Kelly and Corne’s Monaghan Farm Wedding - 23 December 2016
My last shoot for 2016 was a gorgeous wedding out in Lanseria with Kelly and Corne.
Kelly and I have known each other for years - our moms are work colleagues and I first photographed Kelly and her sister Robyn for their modelling portfolios way back in 2009. Needless to say I was thrilled when I received a call from Kelly’s mom Vicki to ask if I was interested in being their photographer for the wedding!
The wedding itself was a small family affair. Corne’s family had travelled down from Zimbabwe for the big day, and the Highveld summer wasn’t going to disappoint the visiting parties – it was a bright, hot afternoon and fortunately the thunderstorms so typical of Gauteng in December stayed away.
The ceremony was held on a deck overlooking the river, instead of the bride walking down the aisle, Kelly's dad Mike escorted her up the pathway to the deck.
The deck was also the perfect place to relax and for Kelly and Corne to celebrate with their wedding guests and glass of bubbly after the ceremony.
To take the couple’s photographs we set out onto some of the mountain bike tracks that run through the farm to make the most of the late afternoon light and stunning views.
Monaghan Farm was the perfect setting to capture such a special day!
The couple were going back to Zimbabwe shortly after Christmas, so we combined the wedding photos with a small preggie shoot as Kelly and Corne are expecting a little one this year!
(I have to be honest, I'm a little obsessed with this bouquet!)
After the couple's portraits were done, we made our way back to Mike and Vicki's for the family photos. Not to be outdone by the excitement, the dogs made sure they made it into the group photo at the end of the day!
Kelly and Corne, thank you for choosing me to capture your wedding day! Another big “congratulations!” to you both and all the best for your future journey together!
